Career in IT industry — Don’t start learning machine learning and artificial intelligent?!
What excites you about technology and why you want to help other students explore and learn?
Technology introduces me to more responsive and interactive design of software development process and its different stages. I would like to aim to develop the understanding of systems development from specifications to code writing and testing. I hope to explore and develop the skills to understand first user specifications; the ability to model and design our own experience and then play to software systems according to industry standards; and the ability to code and build software applications. With other students or team members also aims to develop our teamwork skills by allowing us to work in project teams and use a real-life case study to Microsoft.
Every industry — whether it’s oil and gas, retail, financial services, agri-tech — all are being transformed by digital technology.
Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO.
How would you take a technical concept and teach it to a friend or peer that has never heard of it?
In a world where organisations are constantly trying to grow and gain a competitive advantage, teaching and learning strategies play a vital role in helping someone to achieve our objectives. I would like to cover information strategies, models, frameworks, and technologies that students will learn through a combination of topic presentation, design activities, and group discussions. There might be approximately 1.5 hour topic presentation and 1.5 hour practical work per week, this is proven by productivity researches.
What would be your next career aspiration?
Aside from technical and learning enthusiasm, I would like to thank you to Microsoft student team for organising previous Azure workshop. I am able to be courageous and not too imposter about my skills, instead, now my key insights into the market, I understand candidates’ niche skills and experience and work in partnership with our clients to build innovative, creative recruitment solutions that reflect my bring both skills leverage tools, such as Apache Jupyter Notebooks. Questions that would be in portfolio and analysis?
- What is cloud computing; typical cloud services benefits of cloud & types of cloud services (infrastructure, platform, software); cloud development models (public, private, hybrid)
- What is Azure; different types of Azure services; demystifying technical jargons (compute power, VM, containers, microservices)?
- SaaS platforms and its feasible usage? Here’s my summary:
AWS (Amazon web services): Market leader, offers many products, good for all-in on one provider Azure: good if you’re already running on-premise servers, use windows and office, good tools as well
GCP (Google Cloud Platform) : fantastic machine learning and data capabilities, multi-cloud strategies and rarer to find skilled people than the first two All the rest are just kinda meh, unless you have a specific need for them (e.g. oracle databases)
The non-technical and technical stream explored the same field with different focuses:
- CRM (Customer relationship management)
- Technical Consultant — it would be benefits and develop from existing role knowing the products and services offered
- Change Management
- Project Management
- Business Analyst -> Data Analyst

Many students may have a strong foundation on statistical and analytical concepts, but they don’t have a clear idea of how and where to apply them as per business requirements. Similarly, many managers crave for end results and business implications without having the faintest idea about its execution. Hence, to bridge this gap I have developed this interesting course on Business Analytics which will give us a clear idea on how Data Analytics is actually implied in real-world industries while we gradually deep dive into various statistical concepts, Machine Learning algorithms and Advanced Analytics comprising neural networks.
Hope you find this course interesting and of enough value addition!
